An intrinsic part of being a professional is being held to a higher standard of ethical behaviour and HR professionals often find themselves at risk for coercion or pressure because of their access to confidential information, and important processes such as staffing, compensation and performance management.

  • Do we need a senior designation in HR?: A Pulse Survey
    The online survey was conducted in April 2008. The survey got the best response to date with more than 1,800 respondents and 749 were compelled to comment at greater length.

  • Raising the Bar: A Pulse Survey
    The majority of HRPA of Ontario members feel the standards for the CHRP are high enough but opinions varied as to whether it should function as an entry level designation or instead be the mark of a strategic business partner. The survey—undertaken with the Canadian HR Reporter—asked HR professionals whether the standards for the CHRP should be raised. The response was impressive with 1191 HR professionals from different levels of experience and seniority and from companies of all sizes weighing in.

  • The Future of the HR Profession: A Pulse Survey
    For our inaugural Pulse Survey, we examined HR professionals’ thoughts on the future of the profession. The survey is a joint effort of HRPA of Ontario and the Canadian HR Reporter.

    This report provides insight into corporate Ontario’s employment practices concerning diversity groups including women, visible minorities (VM), people with disabilities (PD), aboriginals, mature workers (55+) and members of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities.

  • 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility
    Beginning in early 2006, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) conducted the Corporate Social Responsibility Survey, a pilot study that asked HR professionals in the United States, Australia, India, China, Canada, Mexico and Brazil about the practices and policies that their organizations implemented to demonstrate corporate social responsibility.
